A free “next day off” widget for your school site
A small box for a school, PTA or neighborhood site that shows one district’s next day off school and the three after it, from the district’s own calendar. It is free, and 923 districts have one. Pick the district, copy the code, paste it where the box should go.

What the box shows
The district’s name, its next day off school with the number of days until it, and the three days off after that, each with its dates. The count works from the date on the visitor’s own device, so the box moves on by itself as the days pass; the dates in it change when we read the district’s calendar again.
Under the dates is a link, Calendar by SchoolDates, to the district’s full calendar on this site, and the code carries the same link under the box. Keep that line or delete it: the box works the same either way.
The box is a page of this site shown in a frame. It does not carry the Google Analytics tag, so a visit to your page is not counted by us; it writes nothing to the visitor’s device, and every file it loads, one stylesheet and one script, comes from schooldates.org. There is no advertising in it.
Without the picker
The address of a district’s box is the address of its calendar page with /embed in front and without the year: schooldates.org/new-york/nyc-public/2026-2027/ becomes schooldates.org/embed/new-york/nyc-public/.
